A comprehensive list of all
repair work which would be required to reinstate the vehicle
to its pre-accident condition, including new parts, parts
requiring general and specialist repair. The cost of labour,
new parts, paint and materials and specialist repairs. A
summary of savings made from the repairing garage's original

|
| Q. |
|
What would happen if the vehicle
was found to be repairable ? |
| A. |
|
Providing that we were so
instructed we would authorise the repair to proceed by contacting
the repairer and informing them of any excess and also of
the VAT status of the insured and also of any contributions
that we feel the insured should bear. |

|
| Q. |
|
What would happen if the vehicle
was considered to be uneconomical to repair ? |
| A. |
|
We would provide within the
body of the report our own assessment as to the value of
the vehicle in its damaged state (scrap or salvage value).
We would also categorise the remains in line with the requirements
of M.I.A.F.T.R. (Motor Insurance Anti Fraud and Theft Register).
We would also include in the report notification as to whether
there were any outstanding vehicle recovery charges or storage
charges accruing. Subject to the insured accepting an offer
from the insurers, we would then dispose of the salvage to
the highest tender from recognised salvage buyers. |
